Fender Stratocaster

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, initially called the Fender Electric Instrument Manufacturing Company, was founded by Leo Fender in the 1940s, and is the best known manufacturers of electric guitars.

Fender is particularly known for carrying the solid body electric guitars to the masses. Other companies and luthiers produced electric guitars, but they were all hollow body, or special guitars such as Rickenbacker Hawaiian Steel Lap.
